Countdown to Leadville 100 Trail Race Aug 18, 2012 @4am...

My Coaching Philosophy first and foremost is to have fun and make the effort to do your best. I also believe that every experience is a learning one, and to keep things simple by doing the fundamentals very well.
  • I have completed 37 marathons, 16 ultra-marathons including two 'Leadville Trail 100' finishes, and numerous 10 km and 1/2 marathons since 1990.
  • 'School of Experience' - a life-long learner.
  • I have been a running coach since 2005.
  • My successes include:
    • Doris Dubicki's 50 mile Canadian Championship win, May 3, 2005
    • Dr. Allan Cook - marathon finishing times of 3 hrs 32 mins and 3 hrs 23 mins (previous 4 marathons were 4 hours plus)
    • Greg Tonge, age 55 - completed his first 6 marathons in 9 months in 2006 and qualified for the Boston marathon. Update: Finished his 32rd marathon May 01, 2011 at the Vancouver marathon.
  • Everyone gets equal attention: I will coach runners for any distance from 10 km to an ultra-marathon.
  • I stress quality mileage running, and hill workouts.
